Welcome back, guys!
In my last entry, we talked about my favourite character and today we'll talk about my favourite chapter.
The chapter which I really really love is chapter 5. Chapter 5 is the chapter in which Alicia tells Sam that she's late with her Periode and that she´s probably pregnant.
On Sam's sixteenth birthday Sam gets a text message from Alicia in the evening that she needs to see him urgently. Sam answers her and they organize to meet. Sam guesses that she probably is pregnant and just hopes, that it's not that message, but he is prepared for it. When Sam sits down next to Alicia she tells him that she's late with her period and Sam understands her right away because he thought she was going to say that. Alicia hasn't been to the doctor's and they decide to buy a pregnancy test at the next drugstore. Because they don't have enough money, they arrange that Alicia goes home to get some money and Sam waits for her. But Sam goes away and switches off his cellphone. He doesn't want to realize it and doesn’t want to think about the future.
In my last blog enrty I said that I like when you read a book and you can feel with the main character . So, in chapter 5 you can feel with Sam and understand his feelings and that is what I really like in this chapter and in the whole book. The whole situation is real.
Maybe some of my classmates hate a chapter like this, because they hate Sam. So, they can't understand why Sam reacts like he reacts, but I think it's completely comprehensible, at least for me. But everybody has his own point of view. For me it's not important that you have the same point of view, but rather that you can understand why I choose this chapter.
In the next step, I have to ask questions to Nick Hornby, he's the author.

-Why do Sam and Alicia choose the name ´Rufus/Roof´? It's horrible!:)

You presented chapter 5 pretty good! I can really understand why you chose it as your favourite chapter.
Maybe you could mention a few quotations, for example when you say that you can understand Sam and feel with him.
I totally agree that Rufus / Roof is a horrible name!
I´ve noticed only a few mistakes.

AntwortenLöschenit's very interesting that you chose chapter 5 as your favourite one! I personally can't identify with Sam in this situation because it shows how afraid he is and that he's not willing to take the responsibility - he just runs away. In my opinion he should've acted another way.
But it's true what Melanie already said: You explained your opinion well so that people can understand why you chose this chapter as your favourite one!
And yes, I also agree that Rufus is a horrible name for a baby! Would be interesting to know why Mr Hornby chose this name!
